Arne Slot, manager of the “Reds” Liverpool, admitted that his team deserved to draw 3-3 with “Magpies” Newcastle United in the English Premier League last night because they only played well in the second half. He also praised Mohamed Salah for scoring two goals in the game and defended promising goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher for making a mistake that led to the third goal.
The Reds fought back twice and eventually took a point from the clash on Wednesday evening—a result which saw their Premier League lead trimmed to just seven points.
“I feel like I can’t explain it, we played great in the second half, but in the first half we didn’t play well enough. Maybe 3-3 is the score we deserved,” Slot said to ยูฟ่าเบท.
“They were very aggressive and made mistakes, but we played better in the second half. I knew we could change the game. We played well when we had the ball.”
“Every time we need Mohamed Salah, he scores. We hope and expect him to continue like this for a long time. He was really outstanding in the second half. He did a lot of special things for us.”
