England midfielder Conor Gallagher flew to Spain early on Monday morning to discuss further football terms with Atletico Madrid.

Sky Sports, a British media outlet, reported that Gallagher immediately decided to travel to Madrid, Spain, on Monday morning to further negotiate and conclude personal terms with Atletico Madrid.

Gallagher is reportedly open to accepting an offer from Atletico Madrid and, should the deal go smoothly, the 24-year-old midfielder will undergo a medical with the La Liga club UFABET

Chelsea have already accepted a £34m bid from Atletico Madrid. But he has been holding off on a decision. With Diego Simeone’s side reportedly set to scrap the move and look elsewhere.

However, Gallagher has decided not to sign a new two-year contract with Chelsea. Who are offering him a third and are now set to negotiate a five-year deal with Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea had previously accepted a bid from Aston Villa that outbid Atletico Madrid. But Gallagher rejected the chance to move to Villa Park. While Tottenham Hotspur also remain interested.

He made his final decision just one minute before the deadline at the end of the weekend.

Should talks progress smoothly and a medical be completed, he is expected to sign a five-year contract.
